Main trends of social economic development of Uzbekistan include sustained high rates of economic growth (7-9% per annum on average) and significant growth in GDP and industry production. The volume of industrial production has grown more than 3 times during the period of 1990-2011, while GDP based on purchasing power parity has increased 5 times.
