A small village called Blue Moon Valley where Li Sun lives with her grandmother. Li Sun's grandmother is old and ill, unable to work or provide for them. She asks Li Sun to go to the city to talk to her uncle and ask for a job at his circus. Reluctantly, Li Sun agrees and leaves the village, embarking on a journey through nature until she reaches the big city with high walls and bustling with people.
